Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Bliss (ranked 3845 p4p, 23707 weight class) and Mickey Munday (ranked 452 p4p, 571 weight class). Mickey Munday will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Bliss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mickey Munday! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Bliss misses. Munday drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bliss defends it well. Munday connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bliss. Bliss circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Bliss just misses with a punch to the body.
Bliss takes a swing at Munday's ribcage but misses. Munday connects with a single shot there. Bliss looks to score with a jab to the body but Munday is just out of range. Munday tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bliss defends well and Munday ends up having to push Bliss into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bliss throws a lazy right hand but Munday sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. It seemed like Munday was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Bliss takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munday moves out of range as Bliss strikes. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Munday. Bliss on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bliss darts in and clinches Munday up against the cage. Bliss prevents a takedown attempt there.
Chuck Bliss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mickey Munday. Bliss tries to throw a body punch but Munday avoids it by throwing Bliss back against the cage. Bliss lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Munday backwards. Munday tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bliss definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Munday is trying to drag Bliss to the mat but Bliss just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Bliss swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bliss takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bliss lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Bliss lands with a short punch from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Munday is looking for a takedown. Munday can't get the takedown.

Bliss goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bliss tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Bliss doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bliss is pressed up against the cage. Munday has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bliss down to the mat. Bliss avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Bliss drives through and clinches with Munday against the cage.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Bliss. Munday has Bliss pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Munday pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bliss tumbling to the mat - Munday dives into Bliss's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bliss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Munday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bliss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bliss looking to control.
Bliss wants to get back to his feet but Munday is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bliss controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bliss looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Munday trying to control the position from guard on top but Bliss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Munday dives in and grabs Bliss's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bliss pushes down on Munday's head and hops out. Munday throws a one two combo.
It looks like Chuck Bliss has been cut. A jab lands there for Bliss. Chuck Bliss is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bliss avoids a punch combination nicely.
Munday connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Munday tests Bliss's chin there with a solid looking shot. A swing and a miss from Munday. Munday has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Munday throws a combination. Bliss tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Bliss moves out of range as Munday strikes. Bliss throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Munday on the side of the head. Munday lands a two punch combo.
Bliss misses with a telegraphed body shot
so Munday counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bliss is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Munday drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Munday jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bliss trying to keep a closed guard but Munday is proving a slippery customer.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Munday trying to control but Bliss is working from the bottom. Munday sitting in guard, not really doing much. Munday postures up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bliss holds on and takes a little breather. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Munday controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Munday throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Munday jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bliss throws a right hand that misses
and Munday counters with a nice body shot. Bliss connects with a body shot that sends Munday's belly button to the back. Munday missing with a left hand there. Bliss was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Munday waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bliss. Bliss is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Munday throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Munday throws a series of punches but Bliss moves out of range. Bliss tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Munday manages to circle out of the way. Bliss thows a left - swing and a miss! Munday fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Munday displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Munday scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bliss looks to score with a jab to the body but Munday is just out of range.

Munday scores with a punch to the head. Munday manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bliss on his heels. He'll look to pass Bliss's guard now, I'm sure. Munday wants to control from the top but Bliss keeps moving. Bliss controlling Munday's posture. Munday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bliss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Munday trying to control the position from guard on top but Bliss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Munday throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Munday accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bliss controlling the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Munday wants to pass the guard but Bliss is keeping the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Munday shoots in for a takedown but Bliss shows good takedown defense. Bliss looks to land a left hand but Munday moved out of range nicely. Munday takes a swing at Bliss's ribcage but misses. As Munday tries to get set, Bliss tries to push him back and clinch up but Munday manages to avoid the attempt. Bliss rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Munday counters with a one-two to the body. Bliss misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Munday.

Mickey Munday dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chuck Bliss's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Munday misses with a left hand and Bliss counters with a series of strikes. Munday will be more careful next time no doubt. A looping hook to the body misses from Bliss. Munday does a little dance to reset his feet. Munday uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bliss. Munday has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Munday thuds his right hand into Bliss's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Bliss throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Munday sees it coming and avoids it easily. Bliss throws a predictable looking body shot
and Munday counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A shot to the liver by Munday. Beautiful body shot. Munday clobbers Bliss with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Munday lands a really nice looking cross but Bliss seems unphased.
Bliss throws a series of punches but Munday avoids them all with ease. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Munday throws a right hand that Bliss ducks under and follows up with a left that Bliss also avoids with ease. Munday swings widly with a right hand
and Bliss counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Bliss. Munday shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bliss manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Munday is pushing down on Bliss's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bliss is fighting to maintain full guard but Munday has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Munday takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Munday looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Munday maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bliss could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Munday has cracked it and Bliss is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Munday!
