This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 79 wins and 78 losses; Able Archer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 33 wins and 17 losses; Dreynos Elvul! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Elvul drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Archer (0) vs (4) Elvul Archer is trying to improve his position. Archer looks to move to half guard but instead Elvul has passed into mount! Damn! Score +2 for reaching mount: Archer (0) vs (6) Elvul Archer is wriggling around trying to escape.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Elvul tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Archer tries to hold on but Elvul pushes him away.

Elvul has his foot on Archer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Archer works his way back into a safe position though. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Elvul is stalling here. Archer is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Elvul seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Archer has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Elvul manages to get back to half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Elvul tries to roll over but Archer keeps him under control. Archer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Elvul is looking for a sweep. Archer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Elvul felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Elvul wants to control but Archer is keeping busy.

 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Archer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Elvul wants to hit a sweep here but Archer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Elvul there! Score +3 for passing guard: Archer (9) vs (11) Elvul Elvul wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Score +3 for taking back: Archer (12) vs (11) Elvul You can see the frustration on Elvul's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! What can Elvul do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
