The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salerno moves out of range of the body kick from Beair.
Salerno gets a double leg takedown into Beair's guard.
Salerno slips nicely into half guard.
Beair tries to roll over but Salerno keeps him under control.
Beair is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Salerno scores with a couple of nice shots.
Salerno has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like Salerno might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salerno is nestled in close to Beair, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Salerno looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beair with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
