Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Julia Alves Chai (ranked 25150 p4p, 3503 weight class) and Kanetake Makio (ranked 162 p4p, 109 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Julia Alves Chai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanetake Makio! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chai steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Makio. That one must have hurt. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Makio has eaten all the pies! Chai blocks a head kick by Makio.
Chai is looking for a counter combo. Makio misses with a wild body shot. Chai thinks about countering with a body kick. Makio gets tackled into the ropes by Chai. Chai maintains the clinch. Makio misses with a short punch on the inside. Chai slows down the pace here.
Makio wants to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Chai takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Makio swings wildly with an uppercut but Chai uses good head movement to avoid it. Stalling in the clinch from Chai.

Chai moves out of range of the body kick. Chai throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Makio throws a head kick that misses. Makio just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromChai. Makio blocks a leg kick. Chai tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Makio scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kanetake Makio dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Makio scores with a body shot.

and Chai makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Makio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Oh Chai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Julia Alves Chai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chai circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chai seems to have got his legs back now. Makio moves out of range of the leg kick from Chai. Chai checks a leg kick nicely. Chai tried to counter with a leg kick but Makio avoided it. Chai throws a body kick that misses. Chai throws a head kick but Makio moves out of range.

Makio tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Chai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kanetake Makio seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Makio is looking to score with low kicks. Chai is looking to chop away at Makio's legs. Makio misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chai is looking for a counter combo. Chai throws a leg kick but Makio sees it coming and checks it nicely. Makio tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Chai manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chai half committed to a counter leg kick. Chai has closed the distance and engaged Makio in a clinch.
Makio escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Makio moves to clinch but Chai breaks away and Chai counters with an outside leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Makio misses with a leg kick. As Makio backs away, Chai returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Chai throws a leg kick which misses Makio's front leg but catches the back leg as Makio tries to avoid it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Julia Alves Chai will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Chai connects with a solid leg kick. Chai rushes Makio and presses him up against the ropes. Makio escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chai pivots, looking for a leg kick but Makio is out of range and Chai settles back down. Makio looks to land a right hand but Chai moved out of range. Makio throws a chopping leg kick but Chai manages to avoid taking any serious damage. As Makio backs away, Chai returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Chai throws a low kick but Makio moves out of range easily. Chai gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Makio takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chai throws a quick inside leg kick. Makio wants to clinch. Makio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Makio's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Chai lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A punch combination from Makio misses. As Makio backs away, Chai returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chai is looking to chop away at Makio's legs. Makio throws a series of punches but Chai avoids them all with ease. Makio moves in looking to clinch but Chai pushes him off. Chai thinks about countering with a head kick. Chai pivots, looking for a leg kick but Makio is out of range and Chai settles back down. Chai throws a nice inside leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Makio. Makio tries to clinch there but Chai circles away.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Julia Alves Chai. I think Chai has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
