Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rayan Brandt (ranked 1325 p4p, 2897 weight class) and Matvey Buryckin (ranked 172 p4p, 338 weight class). Rayan Brandt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rayan Brandt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matvey Buryckin! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandt scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Buryckin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Buryckin tries to counter it with a takedown but Brandt pushes his down on his head and steps out. Buryckin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brandt's waist but Brandt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buryckin off to one side. A momentary lapse in concentration from Buryckin enables Brandt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Buryckin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Brandt wants to control from the top but Buryckin keeps moving. Buryckin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brandt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brandt is looking to work some ground and pound but Buryckin has wrist control. Brandt not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandt trying to control the position from guard on top but Buryckin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Buryckin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Buryckin shoots and misses and Brandt counters with a single leg into guard. Buryckin didn't expect that. Brandt trying to control the position from guard on top but Buryckin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brandt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Buryckin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Buryckin won't allow Brandt to sweep him here. Brandt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Buryckin stays in close to Brandt's body and controls the position. Brandt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buryckin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brandt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Brandt looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Buryckin passes into side control.
Buryckin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brandt has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buryckin trying to control the position but Brandt is working away. Brandt looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Brandt is looking for a sweep. Buryckin working away. Brandt is trying to improve his position. Brandt is not content to let Buryckin control the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Buryckin trying to control the position but Brandt is working away. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Brandt manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Buryckin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Buryckin keeps trying to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buryckin manages to get to full guard.
Buryckin is pulling down on Brandt's head. It's preventing any offense from Brandt, at least for the moment. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rayan Brandt dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Nice sprawl there from Brandt as Buryckin shoots in. Brandt feinted with a counter takedown. Buryckin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Buryckin shoots in and drives through. Brandt sprawls well. Rayan Brandt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matvey Buryckin. Brandt lands a glancing blow to the side of Buryckin's head. Brandt misses with the combination.
Buryckin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Brandt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Buryckin is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buryckin passes into half guard. Buryckin is keen to just control but Brandt is a slippery customer.

Brandt looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Buryckin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Buryckin trying to control from half guard but Brandt is working away. Brandt is trying to control but Buryckin passes into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brandt tries to improve position but can't. Brandt is working hard here to advance position. Buryckin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brandt keeps working. Buryckin controlling the position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Brandt wants to control but Buryckin postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Brandt misses with a wild body shot. Buryckin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brandt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buryckin somewhat. Buryckin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Buryckin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Brandt is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brandt can't do much from the bottom here. Brandt is looking to regain half guard here but Buryckin keeps moving and retains side control. Buryckin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brandt, who protects the arm well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brandt is looking for a sweep. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Matvey Buryckin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Buryckin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Buryckin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Brandt working for submissions but it's allowed Buryckin to get to half guard.

Buryckin has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Brandt turns into Buryckin and is now in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buryckin is looking for a triangle but Brandt pushes his legs off easily.
Brandt is in close to Buryckin's body, working some short punches and elbows. Buryckin keeping moving, preventing Brandt from controlling successfully. Buryckin is trying to keep Brandt in close.
Brandt working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Brandt content to stall in guard here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brandt wants to control from the top but Buryckin keeps moving. Buryckin controlling the position. Brandt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Brandt trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Buryckin manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Buryckin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brandt is keeping the position for now. Buryckin wants to control from the top but Brandt keeps moving. Buryckin stopping the sweep attempt from Brandt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Buryckin wants to pass the guard but Brandt is keeping the position. Matvey Buryckin has got the better of the ground game so far. Brandt looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Buryckin passes into half guard.
