Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Olivier Dujardin (ranked 1480 p4p, 2017 weight class) and Inigo Montoya (ranked 196 p4p, 258 weight class). Dujardin comes to the cage accompanied by Sosa by Leto & Guy2bezbar. Montoya has chosen The Crystal Method - Play For Real (Dirtyphonics Remix) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Olivier Dujardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Inigo Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dujardin scores with a nice strike.

and Dujardin counters with a shoot takedown. Montoya fights it but they end up in guard.
Dujardin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dujardin is looking to work some ground and pound but Montoya has wrist control.
Montoya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dujardin throws a lazy right hand but Montoya sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dujardin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Montoya paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Montoya ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dujardin moves away.

Dujardin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Olivier Dujardin has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Montoya pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dujardin throws a hook but Montoya blocks it.
Montoya fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montoya throws a sloppy head kick and Dujardin moves out of range easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Montoya.
Montoya throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Montoya finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dujardin cracks Montoya with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Dujardin moves into range and clinches up with Montoya.

Dujardin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Montoya tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dujardin was well out of range. Poor timing from Montoya.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dujardin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Montoya did well to prevent Dujardin getting side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dujardin connects with a nice short shot to Montoya's temple.

Dujardin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

It looks like Dujardin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

You can see the frustration on Montoya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Montoya felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
