The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Martelo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Martelo decides to pull guard. Song won't allow Martelo to sweep him here. Martelo has an active guard here but Song has managed to pass into half guard.
Martelo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Song should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Martelo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Song manages to get himself to full guard.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martelo works his way back into a safe position though. Song being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Song looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Well, if Martelo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martelo is pressing down on Song's thigh, looking to free his foot. Song is holding on for now. Martelo controlling the pace. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Martelo passes to side control. That's three minutes gone in the round. Martelo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Song is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Song and Martelo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Song is looking to regain half guard here but Martelo keeps moving and retains side control. Song sneaks back into half guard. Song looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Song wants to pass the guard but Martelo is keeping the position. Song drops back, looking for a kneebar! Martelo looks panicked! That's five minutes gone in the round. Martelo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Song is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Martelo tries to advance to mount but Song denies him. Martelo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Song! That's six minutes gone in the round. Song is desperately trying to improve his position but Martelo has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Song is trying to reverse the position but instead Martelo has taken his back - oops! Score +3 for taking back: Martelo (19) vs (2) Song Martelo working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Song is doing well to defend. Martelo seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Song is forced to tap and this one is over!
