Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dion Fitzwater (ranked 25363 p4p, 3824 weight class) and Kameron Vega (ranked 536 p4p, 0 weight class). Vega has chosen Bye bye as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kameron Vega has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dion Fitzwater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kameron Vega! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fitzwater has managed to clinch.
Vega misses with a hook from the clinch. Fitzwater escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fitzwater looks to score with a jab to the body but Vega is just out of range. Despite the aggression on Vega's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Vega rushes Fitzwater and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Fitzwater lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vega or not. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Fitzwater. Fitzwater drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vega gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fitzwater definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Fitzwater is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vega is defending well. Fitzwater pulls guard effortlessly. Fitzwater being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzwater controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzwater wants to sweep but no luck. Vega in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vega makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vega slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Let's hope that Vega has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Fitzwater can't keep his opponent in guard - Vega advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Vega slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Fitzwater is trying to maintain the position but Vega is very close to passing his half guard. Vega perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Vega fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fitzwater forces Vega back against the cage and clinches. Fitzwater is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vega is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dion Fitzwater. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzwater tries to pull guard but Vega forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Fitzwater's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vega looking to score a takedown here. Fitzwater is defending well but Vega drives through and ends up in Fitzwater's guard. Vega is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fitzwater wants to stand and escape but Vega is having none of it. Vega stays in close to Fitzwater's body and controls the position. Vega wants to pass the guard but Fitzwater is keeping the position. Vega slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vega stands up and beckons Fitzwater to his feet. Kameron Vega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fitzwater gets a clinch. Fitzwater tries for a takedown. No joy.
Fitzwater stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Fitzwater breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fitzwater feints and then cracks Vega's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vega down. Vega will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fitzwater misses with a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fitzwater fails to land the takedown. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice cross by Vega. Fitzwater shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vega pinned against the cage. Vega gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kameron Vega will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vega gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fitzwater wants a takedown.
Fitzwater misses with the head strike.
Fitzwater gets through Vega's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vega drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fitzwater gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Fitzwater throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fitzwater is keeping busy. Fitzwater lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vega backwards. Fitzwater scores with a shoulder strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzwater changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vega fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vega shoots in but no luck this time. Vega swinging wildly here.
Vega stuffs the takedown attempt from Fitzwater. Fitzwater gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dion Fitzwater. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fitzwater connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vega. Vega circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Vega closes the distance and clinches. Fitzwater is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Vega is breathing heavily. Fitzwater gets control of Vega's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fitzwater will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Vega wants to pass the guard but Fitzwater is keeping the position. Fitzwater is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fitzwater has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vega can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega is fighting to break Fitzwater's control of his arms but Fitzwater is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Vega decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fitzwater, up you get! Vega circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vega changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Vega misses the shot to the body. Fitzwater defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vega. Vega tries for a takedown but Fitzwater sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Fitzwater looks for a takedown but Vega sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzwater lands a leg kick that knocks Vega off balance momentarily. Fitzwater blocks a leg kick. A jab lands there for Vega. Fitzwater pushes Vega up against the cage in a clinch. Vega jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fitzwater walks away with a smile on his face. Vega gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A solid body kick from Fitzwater. Fitzwater looks for a takedown but Vega sprawls well. Fitzwater rushes Vega and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Fitzwater has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vega uses from the top position. Fitzwater is trying to control the position but Vega postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fitzwater tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vega is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Vega decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fitzwater, up you get! A kick lands to the mid section there for Fitzwater. Fitzwater throws a head kick but Vega moves out of range.
Vega wants to counter with a clinch but Fitzwater pushes him away. Dion Fitzwater is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fitzwater lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vega avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vega closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fitzwater to the mat! Fitzwater manages to get full guard. Fitzwater is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Vega presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Dion Fitzwater has scored more points in the clinch so far. Vega tries to pull guard but Fitzwater forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Fitzwater gets control of Vega's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fitzwater will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dion Fitzwater dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Vega tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fitzwater throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vega is defended easily by Fitzwater. Vega circles away from the clinch attempt.

Fitzwater will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fitzwater looks for a takedown but Vega sprawls well. Vega throws a right hand that Fitzwater ducks under and follows up with a left that Fitzwater also avoids with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vega. Dion Fitzwater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kameron Vega. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fitzwater gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitzwater looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Vega passes into side control.
Vega scoring with punches and elbows. Vega staying calm. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Vega.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fitzwater tries to improve position but can't. Fitzwater gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Fitzwater is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vega pulls his head out easily. Fitzwater trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vega stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Vega lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Vega closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vega lands in his opponent's guard. Fitzwater wants to get back to his feet but Vega passes into half guard.
Vega decides to return to a standing position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vega fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fitzwater sprawls well initially but Vega persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Vega is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that's the end of the fight! Kameron Vega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Vega has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Kameron Vega! In his post fight interview, Kameron Vega started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
