This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 29 losses; Uncle Abner!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Abner leaves Hughes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Abner as he jumps to the side.

Abner closes the distance and pushes Hughes back into the ropes.

Hughes wants the takedown. Abner is fighting it off but Hughes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Abner's guard against the ropes.

Abner defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hughes's arms.

Hughes looking to break Abner's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Abner remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hughes will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Hughes is looking for a choke. Abner gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Abner manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Hughes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abner is just riding it out for now. Hughes eventually gives up the hold.

Hughes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Abner is now in Hughes's guard. A big mistake from Hughes there, giving up the dominant position!

Hughes has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Abner doesn't defend quickly enough and Hughes has managed to lock this one up! Can Abner escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hughes on a fantastic submission victory.
