Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank McMally!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Sheider!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by McMally or perhaps it was just good defense by Sheider which made him look bad.
McMally shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
McMally fails with a takedown attempt.
A swing and a miss from Sheider.
Sheider misses with a wild body shot.
McMally has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank McMally. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sheider misses with a body shot.

Sheider shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
McMally makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McMally.
Sheider wants to stand but McMally is controlling his posture from full guard.
McMally avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sheider is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McMally manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sheider really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McMally. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sheider is looking to improve his position but McMally isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McMally is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sheider can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Sheider tries to reverse the position but McMally maintains control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
McMally blocks Sheider's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

McMally avoids the attempt from Sheider to control.
McMally throws some wild stikes that Sheider manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McMally can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sheider is looking to escape.
Sheider is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sheider controls the position.
McMally avoids the attempt from Sheider to control.
McMally tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McMally scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Sheider can't escape the position.
Sheider looks gassed!
Sheider wants to control but McMally is having none of it.
McMally lands a nice shot to the head.
McMally controlling the position easily from mount.
McMally blocks Sheider's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
McMally has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sheider wants to control but McMally is having none of it.

Sheider defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from McMally.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McMally in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
McMally avoids the attempt from Sheider to control.

McMally wants to finish this one by submission but Sheider is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McMally.
McMally trying to control but Sheider is having none of it.
Sheider keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McMally looking to control but Sheider is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank McMally will probably get the nod.
That's time! McMally's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sheider throws a shot to the body.
Sheider waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract McMally.

and McMally counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Sheider is defending against the submission attempts here by McMally.
Sheider trying to hold on to McMally's head to control him but McMally postures up.
McMally takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sheider is trying to control but can't.
McMally is trying to control the action in half guard but Sheider is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McMally tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sheider knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sheider controlling the position well.
Sheider is in trouble now - McMally has advanced to mount!
Sheider is in all sorts of trouble here.

McMally has control of Sheider's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sheider regains control of the situation pretty easily.

McMally postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sheider looks a forlorn figure.

McMally breaks from Sheider's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Sheider tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McMally landing strikes from the mount.
Sheider tries to hold on but McMally postures up.

McMally working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
McMally is landing with some decent strikes but Sheider is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
McMally avoids the attempt from Sheider to control.
McMally looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Sheider tries to reverse the position but McMally maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sheider is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sheider tries to improve his position but McMally has taken his back! McMally has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Sheider tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! McMally pushes Sheider away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
