Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harrison Kiely (ranked 380 p4p, 825 weight class) and Patrick Van Kerckhoven (ranked 49 p4p, 107 weight class). Van Kerckhoven is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Neo Cortex - Elements (Daniel Cain Remix). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harrison Kiely! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Van Kerckhoven! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Van Kerckhoven ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Van Kerckhoven misses with a shot to the body and Kiely counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Van Kerckhoven takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kiely keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Kerckhoven throws a leg kick that is checked and Kiely counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Kerckhoven won't be happy with that. Van Kerckhoven felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Van Kerckhoven prevents Kiely from improving position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kiely advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiely tries to control but Van Kerckhoven wriggling away. Kiely controlling from the full mount. Van Kerckhoven is squirming around, avoiding Kiely's attempts to control the action. Van Kerckhoven is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kiely looking to control but Van Kerckhoven is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kiely controlling the pace for now. Van Kerckhoven is squirming around, avoiding Kiely's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiely goes for an armbar but Van Kerckhoven turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Van Kerckhoven. Kiely wants to sweep but no luck. Van Kerckhoven wants to get up but he can't break Kiely's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kiely controlling Van Kerckhoven's posture. Kiely has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Van Kerckhoven slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiely tries to land a sweep but no joy. Van Kerckhoven must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kiely is controlling Van Kerckhoven's posture. Van Kerckhoven postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kiely is on top in guard.
Van Kerckhoven is pulling down on Kiely's head. It's preventing any offense from Kiely, at least for the moment. Kiely is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kiely ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Kerckhoven moves away. Van Kerckhoven is looking for the big counter here. It looks like Harrison Kiely has been cut. Van Kerckhoven with the inside leg kick. Van Kerckhoven throws a lazy right hand but Kiely sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kiely keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Van Kerckhoven. Kiely swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Van Kerckhoven lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kiely has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kiely and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A nice inside leg kick there by Van Kerckhoven. That's going to slow Kiely down. Van Kerckhoven misses with a straight right. Van Kerckhoven misses with a hook. Kiely ducked under it nicely. Kiely shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Van Kerckhoven but Van Kerckhoven pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Kerckhoven lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kiely takes a step back to recover. Van Kerckhoven throws a shot from downtown. Kiely moves away and avoids it. Kiely was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Kiely stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Van Kerckhoven. Kiely moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiely uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Van Kerckhoven throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Van Kerckhoven throws a body punch but Kiely moves out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Van Kerckhoven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Harrison Kiely's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Kiely defending well as Van Kerckhoven loads up on a big left hand. Van Kerckhoven lands a glancing blow to the side of Kiely's head. Kiely blocks the body kick.
Van Kerckhoven does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. A quick step to the side and Kiely tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiely thuds his right hand into Van Kerckhoven's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Kiely on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiely works the jab nicely. Van Kerckhoven misses with a hook. Kiely ducked under it nicely. Van Kerckhoven drops Kiely with a beautiful combination! Kiely stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Van Kerckhoven is looking for the KO!
Kiely is rocked! A low kick lands for Van Kerckhoven.
Oh Kiely is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Van Kerckhoven misses with a left hand and Kiely counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kiely seems to have got his legs back now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Van Kerckhoven is adopting a defensive guard.

Van Kerckhoven has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kiely wants to pass the guard but Van Kerckhoven is keeping the position. Van Kerckhoven keeping moving, preventing Kiely from controlling successfully. Kiely passes easily into side control. Nice work. Kiely is trying to get an arm triangle but Van Kerckhoven is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiely is looking to take a break and control but Van Kerckhoven is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kiely is really struggling to control Van Kerckhoven but he's trying to hold on to the position. Van Kerckhoven prevents Kiely from improving position. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kiely is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Kerckhoven knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Van Kerckhoven stops Kiely from passing to mount. Kiely advances nicely into full mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Van Kerckhoven is squirming around, avoiding Kiely's attempts to control the action. Kiely jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Van Kerckhoven manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Patrick Van Kerckhoven comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Van Kerckhoven has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
