Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leo Parsons (ranked 4353 p4p, 3862 weight class) and Igor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leo Parsons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Igor Silva!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Parsons is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parsons does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Parsons takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Parsons has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parsons did well to prevent Silva getting side control.

Parsons is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Parsons knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Parsons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Parsons tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Parsons as he jumps to the side.
Parsons is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Parsons shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Parsons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parsons looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Silva gets caught napping as Parsons dives in and scores a takedown. Silva manages to retain guard.
Parsons slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Parsons drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Parsons has Silva in his guard.

Parsons is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

Igor Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Parsons's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

and Silva counters with a nice body shot.
Parsons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.

Parsons drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.

Parsons has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Parsons is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silva is defending well though. Parsons let's go of the attempt for now.
Silva wants to control his opponent's hands but Parsons gets his hands free.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Parsons to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
