Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Braeden Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aydin Strickland!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Strickland manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Richards sets himself, and Strickland steps forward looking for the clinch! Richards avoids it this time.
Strickland closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Richards quickly recovers to half guard.
Richards has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Strickland is on him like a limpet, forcing Richards back against the cage.
Richards could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Strickland pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Richards tries to clinch there but Strickland circles away.
Strickland scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Strickland lands an elbow.
Strickland is staying tight to Richards's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Richards is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Strickland's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Strickland! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Richards has tapped! This one is allllll over!
