Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Splint (ranked 4054 p4p, 3872 weight class) and Rylan Mayo (ranked 0 p4p, 403 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Mayo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mayo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mayo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Splint is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mayo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Splint defends it well.

Splint has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mayo is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Splint is looking to get back to full guard here but Mayo has managed to pass to side control instead.

Mayo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Splint haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mayo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Splint does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mayo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Splint can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Splint is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mayo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Splint keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mayo is working for a rear naked choke. Splint is not defending it well and Mayo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Splint refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Splint's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
