Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cameron McNab!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Qwerty!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNab lands a slapping body shot.
Qwerty misses with an uppercut.

McNab decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McNab content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Qwerty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McNab.
McNab thows a huge punch but Qwerty dodges it nicely.
We've been hearing that McNab has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Qwerty throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McNab sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Qwerty loads up on a big right hand but McNab slips the punch.
Qwerty takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McNab on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McNab looks to land a left hand but Qwerty moved out of range nicely.
Qwerty throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Qwerty moves out of range of the strikes.
McNab stuns Qwerty with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McNab thuds a left hand into Qwerty's body.

McNab misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Qwerty.
McNab tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Qwerty was well out of range. Poor timing from McNab.

McNab closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Qwerty sneaks out the side door and pushes McNab away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McNab lands a nice looking body shot.
Qwerty throws a lazy uppercut

so McNab counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McNab throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Qwerty works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McNab stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Qwerty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Qwerty preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
McNab is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McNab in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

McNab trying to control but Qwerty is working from the bottom.
McNab content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
McNab lands a couple of decent looking shots.
McNab is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Qwerty can do to turn this around?

McNab wants to lay and pray for a moment but Qwerty keeps working.
McNab cracks Qwerty with an elbow. That is naaassty.

McNab seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Qwerty for as long as he can get away with.

McNab scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Qwerty to see if he's OK.
Qwerty tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McNab wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee asks McNab politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. McNab prefers to stall for the moment though.
McNab lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
McNab remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
McNab wants to lay and pray for a moment but Qwerty keeps working.

Qwerty avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Qwerty! But no joy.

McNab is looking to wear down Qwerty with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

McNab's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNab accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McNab in side control, throwing shots but Qwerty defends.
McNab tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Cameron McNab is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well McNab has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
