And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Alejandro Laguera!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lee is looking to take this one to the mat.
Laguera drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
I was talking to Lee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Lee is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Laguera is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Charles Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alejandro Laguera.
Laguera has Lee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Laguera is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lee gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee is trying to drag Laguera to the mat but Laguera just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Laguera turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Laguera manages to end up in side control.

Lee is trying to control Laguera's posture but Laguera avoids it.

Laguera tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee manages to get back to half guard.
Lee is holding on to half guard well.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Laguera is working away from the top position though.
Laguera wants to pass to mount but Lee is defending the position.

Laguera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee is holding on to half guard well.

Laguera is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Laguera trying to control from half guard but Lee is working away.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Laguera might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lee haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Laguera wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.

Laguera has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lee defend it? Laguera steps over the head and cranks it - Lee is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Laguera!
