Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Francis (ranked 2016 p4p, 1929 weight class) and Mandlenkosi Thulani (ranked 66 p4p, 96 weight class). Thulani has chosen Zara - Sojaboy as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thulani misses with a body punch
and Thulani takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Thulani scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

It looks like Jayson Francis has been cut.
Francis cracks Thulani with a good jab.

We've been informed that Thulani has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Thulani throws a hook to the side of Francis's head but Francis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Thulani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Francis.
Thulani throws a shot from downtown. Francis moves away and avoids it.

and Thulani counters with a nice uppercut.

Thulani looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Mandlenkosi Thulani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Francis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Francis throws a jab but it's blocked by Thulani.
Thulani swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Thulani throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Francis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Oooooh!!! Francis has knocked Thulani down with a huge combo! Francis steps away and waves a wobbly Thulani back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Thulani rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Francis counters with a nice right hand that sends Thulani toppling to the canvas! Thulani scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Francis finish him?!
Thulani is still on wobbly legs! Can Francis finish him?

Thulani misses the shot to the body.
Thulani looks to land a right hand but Francis moved out of range.
Thulani seems to have recovered his senses.
Thulani scores with a hook.
Francis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Francis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Francis misses with a wild body shot.
A little jabbing left from Thulani on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Francis throws a sloppy head kick and Thulani moves out of range easily.
Francis lands a big head kick that sends Thulani tumbling to the mat! Francis takes a step backwards and waves Thulani back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Thulani gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Francis gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Thulani is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jayson Francis!
Jayson Francis was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
