Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Lancaster (ranked 978 p4p, 1045 weight class) and Martin Drop (ranked 59 p4p, 63 weight class). Lancaster kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Slipknot - I Am Hated. Shane Lancaster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Lancaster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Drop! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lancaster cracks Drop with a good jab. Drop lands with an uppercut that bounces Lancaster off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Shane Lancaster has been cut. Lancaster feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Drops jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Lancaster avoids the body shot from Drop.
Lancaster doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Drop swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Drop paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Lancaster fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Drop on the side of the head. Lancaster uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Drop. Lancaster steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Drop. Lancaster appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Drop displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lancaster. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lancaster lands a lovely overhand right. Lancaster has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LA FIGHT BARN in the buildup to the fight. Drop ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lancaster is breathing heavily. Drop throws out a loose jab but Lancaster uses good head movement to avoid it. Drop bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lancaster's head backwards. Lancaster avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Drop slips a jab from Lancaster. Drop misses with a hook. Lancaster ducked under it nicely. Lancaster fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lancaster uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Drop. Lancaster takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Drop pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Martin Drop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drop looks to land a left hand but Lancaster moved out of range nicely. The fighters circling - Drop throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Drop loads up on a big right hand but Lancaster slips the punch. Lancaster tries to counter with a takedown but Drop is quick to defend against it. A nice leg kick lands there from Drop. Lancaster throws a jab when Drop was well out of range. Lancaster ducks under a wild hook from Drop. Lancaster takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Drop moves away from the strike by Lancaster. A big right from Drop misses. A nice leg kick from Drop, right into the meat of the thigh.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Drop throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Drop misses the target. Lancaster changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Drop slips a jab from Lancaster. A telegraphed right hand from Drop misses the target. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Drop throws out a loose jab but Lancaster uses good head movement to avoid it. Good exchange - Lancaster coming out on top. Drop jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lancaster looks to land a left hand but Drop moved out of range nicely. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Drop! But no joy. Lancaster throws a jab but it's blocked by Drop. A big left from Lancaster misses. Drop lands with a nice body punch. Lancaster is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Lancaster stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Drop. Nice shot lands for Lancaster. Drop cracks Lancaster with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lancaster looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Drop finish him?
Shane Lancaster's cut is getting worse. Lancaster gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Drop gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Lancaster is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin Drop!
