Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deer Hunter (ranked 1237 p4p, 1324 weight class) and Gabriel Soares (ranked 124 p4p, 139 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Soares works to full guard.

Soares has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Hunter looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Soares might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Soares comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hunter is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Soares pushes Hunter up against the cage in a clinch.
Soares jumps guard but Hunter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soares swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hunter looking to improve position, pressing down on Soares's thigh with his hand. Soares seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Hunter paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Hunter's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Soares picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
