Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blake Souza (ranked 1793 p4p, 2741 weight class) and Vincent Klasson (ranked 120 p4p, 167 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Blake Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vincent Klasson! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza wants to clinch. Souza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Klasson is fending him off so far but Souza persists. Nope, Klasson circles away and we're back to standing. Klasson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Souza keeping full guard, as Klasson tries to pass. Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Klasson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Klasson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Klasson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souza is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souza is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Klasson is aware though and is defending well. Klasson looking to pass the guard. Klasson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Souza throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klasson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Klasson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Klasson sitting in guard here, content to control. Souza is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Klasson is aware though and is defending well. Klasson is pushing down on Souza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souza is fighting to maintain full guard but Klasson has managed to sneak the leg through. Souza is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Klasson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Klasson's back! Klasson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Souza somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Klasson wants to control his opponent's hands but Souza gets his hands free. Souza working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Souza is not going to allow Klasson to sit and survive in this position. Klasson wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Souza is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Klasson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Klasson for a finish. Souza is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Klasson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Souza is breathing heavily. Souza missing with punches from the back. Klasson wants to get back to his feet. Souza is looking to control Klasson but Klasson is wriggling around and keeping busy. Can Klasson hold on?! Souza is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Souza working for the choke. Klasson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Klasson breaks Souza's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Klasson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Klasson wants to pass the guard but Souza is keeping the position. Klasson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Klasson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Klasson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Klasson passes Souza's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Souza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Souza trying to control from the bottom.
Klasson passes to side control. Klasson works to advance to full mount. Souza defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Klasson prevents Souza from getting the reversal. Klasson looking to control but Souza is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Souza bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Souza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Klasson being controlled here, momentarily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Blake Souza will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Klasson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Klasson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Souza tries to roll over but Klasson keeps him under control. Souza moves into full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Souza's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Souza had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Klasson defends it easily. Souza throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Klasson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Klasson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Klasson is pushing down on Souza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souza is fighting to maintain full guard but Klasson has managed to sneak the leg through. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Klasson content to control rather than advance. Souza is trying to get back to full guard. Klasson is trying to control the action in half guard but Souza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Klasson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Vincent Klasson has got the better of the ground game so far. Klasson wants to control but Souza is keeping him busy. Souza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Klasson is trying to work for a kimura but Souza is defending well.
Klasson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Souza is just riding it out for now. Klasson eventually gives up the hold. Souza slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.

Souza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Souza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Klasson is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klasson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Souza is looking to control Klasson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Souza avoid being mounted? Souza gets back to full guard.

Klasson stands and throws Souza's legs to the side, diving into side control. Souza is looking to regain half guard here but Klasson keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Klasson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Souza keeps working. Klasson tries to advance to mount but can't. Klasson keeps trying to improve his position. Klasson is looking to take a break and control but Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Souza sneaks back into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Souza actively working from the bottom here. Klasson is looking to take a break and control but Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vincent Klasson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Klasson wants to control the pace but Souza is squirming around nicely. Klasson controlling the position easily from mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Klasson is looking to work his way around to Souza's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Klasson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Souza is working to get back to half guard.
Klasson wants to take his opponent's back but Souza doesn't allow it. Souza is trying desperately to improve position. Souza has given up his back. Will we see Klasson going for some submissions?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Souza prevents Klasson from getting a body triangle. Klasson controlling well, preventing Souza from escaping the position.
Souza is trying to defend against the choke here but Klasson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Klasson Tightens the hold and Souza taps out furiously! Klasson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
