Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kameron Yates (ranked 2721 p4p, 2719 weight class) and Nikhil Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kameron Yates could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nikhil Morrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kameron Yates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nikhil Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yates defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Morrison.
Morrison looks for a takedown but Yates sprawls well.

Morrison closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Morrison is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yates pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kameron Yates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikhil Morrison.
Morrison tries to break the clinch but Yates is controlling the position.

Yates lands with a hook. Morrison tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Morrison misses with a body shot
and Yates counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Morrison leaves Yates with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Morrison closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Morrison escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Morrison moves into the clinch successfully.
Yates stops a takedown attempt from Morrison.
Yates is defending well against a takedown attempt.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Morrison gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Yates pushes Morrison off and gets back to his feet.

Morrison has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yates is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Morrison stalls.
Morrison is trying to drag Yates to the mat but Yates just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Morrison drops down looking for an ankle pick but Yates pulls his leg out and moves away.
Yates misses with a takedown
and Morrison counters with a big head kick but Yates shrugs it off.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown but Yates shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Morrison tries to clinch but Yates is having none of it.

Yates rushes Morrison and presses him up against the cage.

Yates ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yates no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Yates wants to sweep but no luck.

Yates working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morrison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Yates is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Morrison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yates pulls his head out easily.
Kameron Yates overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Yates is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Morrison is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yates's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yates's back!

Morrison throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Morrison jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yates walks away with a smile on his face. Morrison gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Morrison lands a nice looking body shot.

Morrison closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Yates did well to prevent Morrison getting side control.
Morrison wants to take a breather but Yates is having none of it.

Yates has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Morrison's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Morrison duly obliges.

Morrison tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yates paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Yates is trying to drag Morrison to the mat but Morrison just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Yates has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Morrison uses from the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yates bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morrison's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Yates drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morrison manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yates has Morrison in his guard.

Nikhil Morrison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kameron Yates is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Yates pulls Morrison in close to prevent any damage.
