Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Teixeira closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Teixeira pulls his head out easily.

Teixeira is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Teixeira.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
It looked like Teixeira was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Teixeira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
Silva controls Teixeira momentarily but Teixeira frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Teixeira wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Teixeira cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
