Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rylan Mayo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brennan pinned against the cage. Brennan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brennan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mayo circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Brennan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mayo walks away with a smile on his face. Brennan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mayo tries to bum rush Brennan with a series of wild strikes but Brennan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Brennan counters with a series of strikes. Mayo will be more careful next time no doubt.
Brennan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mayo tries to avoid it but Brennan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mayo to the ground. Mayo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rylan Mayo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ty Brennan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mayo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brennan, pushing him back against the cage.
Brennan is trying to pull guard but Mayo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Brennan goes for a takedown attempt but Mayo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Brennan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Mayo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Brennan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brennan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brennan.

It looks like Rylan Mayo has been cut.

Brennan catches Mayo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mayo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brennan avoids it really well and circles away.

Brennan lands a big uppercut and Mayo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mayo looks OK. Brennan waves Mayo back to his feet!

Mayo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Mayo rushes Brennan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brennan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mayo to keep the fight standing.

Mayo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brennan circles away.

Mayo leaves Brennan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mayo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mayo wants to get up but he can't break Brennan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Brennan can't keep his opponent in guard - Mayo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Brennan tries to roll over but Mayo keeps him under control.

Brennan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mayo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brennan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mayo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Brennan has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Brennan dances in with a quick combination. Mayo is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Brennan snaps Mayo's head back. Mayo stumbles backwards against the cage. Brennan steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Mayo's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Mayo just didn't come prepared.
