Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan conroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). conroy has chosen haters as his entrance music. Dylan conroy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan conroy! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. conroy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Day. That did some damage! Day gets a clinch. Day has picked conroy up - he's going for a ride! Day dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Day seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Day is figuring out what he wants to do next. conroy is trying to maintain the position but Day is very close to passing his half guard. conroy wants to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, Day seems content to control. conroy is looking to improve his position.
Day performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Day is nestled in close to conroy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. conroy is trying to get back to full guard. conroy is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Day pulls his head out easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. conroy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A combination from Day does no damage. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Day crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from conroy - the referee stops the clock and Day gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says conroy. Day manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Day wants to clinch up but conroy keeps it at a distance. conroy looks to clinch and Day counters with an inside leg kick. conroy shoots and misses and Day counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in conroy's guard now. conroy looks gassed! Day is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. conroy is working an open guard so Day takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. conroy tries to clinch but fails miserably and Day counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Day. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Day sitting in guard, not really doing much. conroy wants to sweep but no luck. conroy looking for a guillotine here but Day defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Dylan conroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day circles away from the clinch attempt and Day counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Day trying to land knees to the body.
Day has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed conroy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! conroy covers up after that shot from Day.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. I would not like to be conroy right now.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. conroy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Day scores with strikes from the back.

Day controls the position. conroy tries to escape but Day has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Day controlling from the back. You can see the frustration on conroy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. conroy just trying to survive but Day is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Day.

That's going to take a lot out of him. conroy is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Day is keeping busy. Day tries to score a body lock takedown but conroy shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Day fails to pull guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. conroy misses with a takedown and Day makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. conroy really felt that one!

conroy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Day counters with a takedown into side control. conroy regains half guard. Charlie Day overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. conroy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. conroy keeping full guard, as Day tries to pass. conroy wants to sweep here but Day controlling him for the moment. Day decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. conroy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Day throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's two minutes gone in the round. conroy with a poor takedown and Day counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. conroy is looking for a sweep. Day is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. conroy won't allow Day to pass to mount. Day controlling the action here. conroy trying to control here.
Day seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. conroy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Day is working away from the top position though. Day stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows conroy to get to his feet.

You can see the frustration on conroy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. conroy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Day is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt conroy will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

And that's the end of the fight! Charlie Day showed his dominance in that final round. Well Day has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
