Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thufir Hawat (ranked 498 p4p, 212 weight class) and Glen Hoddle (ranked 68 p4p, 31 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thufir Hawat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Glen Hoddle! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Hawat misses
and Hoddle counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hawat! Hawat holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Hawat is trying to control Hoddle's posture but Hoddle avoids it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hawat is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hoddle tries to stand but Hawat is controlling his head. Hoddle looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hawat tries to buck Hoddle off but Hoddle is having none of it.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hawat thumps Hoddle with a low kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Hawat. A combination from Hawat does no damage. Hawat has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Animal Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. Hawat misses with a leg kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoddle takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hawat throws a sloppy head kick and Hoddle moves out of range easily. Hawat scores with a punch to the head. Hawat comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hawat connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. An inside leg kick from Hawat misses. That kick from Hawat tenderised Hoddle's leg. Hoddle is trying to keep his angry face on. A telegraphed right hand from Hawat misses the target. Hoddle with the counter takedown but Hawat avoids it easily. Hawat misses with a low kick.
Hoddle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hawat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hawat throws a nice inside leg kick.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawat scores with a jab to the head.
Hawat pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A left lands for Hawat. Hawat swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hawat lands with a cross. Thufir Hawat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hawat swings away with a leg kick that misses. Hoddle blocks a leg kick. And Hoddle tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawat pushes his down on his head and steps out. Hawat lands with a kick to the temple. Hoddle shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Thufir Hawat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hoddle takes one to the chin there. Hawat is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Hawat pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hoddle is out of range and Hawat settles back down.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawat swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hoddle staying out of range there. Hawat throws a hook to the side of Hoddle's head but Hoddle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hawat thows a body kick. Hoddle tries to catch it but that hurt him. Hawat is looking to chop away at Hoddle's legs. Hawat works Hoddle's body with a nice hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hawat misses with a looping right. And Hoddle tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawat pushes his down on his head and steps out. Crunch! Hawat slams his shin into Hoddle's torso. Hawat shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. And Hoddle tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawat pushes his down on his head and steps out. Hawat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hoddle moves away. Hoddle changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hawat looks to throw a body kick
and Hoddle counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hawat! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Thufir Hawat dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jab by Hawat. Hawat tries to land a front kick but Hoddle steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hawat throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hawat throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Hawat fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Hoddle avoids the head kick by Hawat.
Hoddle with the counter takedown but Hawat avoids it easily. Hawat pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hawat walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hoddle checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hawat is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hoddle can do to turn this around? Hoddle keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hawat. Hawat swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hawat lands a leg kick that knocks Hoddle off balance momentarily. Hawat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thufir Hawat is winning the standup battle so far. Hoddle takes a body punch but keeps moving. Hoddle takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawat delivers a nice body kick. Hawat throws a front kick aimed at Hoddle's knee but Hoddle avoids it well. Hawat connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Hawat throws a looping overhand right but Hoddle ducks down to avoid it. Hoddle's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Hawat clobbers Hoddle with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hawat misses with a wild body shot. The fighters circle momentarily. Hawat darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hoddle needs to keep his hands up - Hawat had a free shot at his head there. Hawat connects with a solid leg kick. Hoddle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hawat gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Hoddle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hoddle.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoddle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hawat has his hands on Hoddle's head, controlling the position. Hawat is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hoddle would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hoddle stopping the sweep attempt from Hawat.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hoddle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hawat.
Hawat throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hoddle with the counter takedown but Hawat avoids it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Thufir Hawat dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Hawat throws a solid leg kick but Hoddle takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hawat. Hoddle drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hawat defends it well. Hawat throws out a loose jab but Hoddle uses good head movement to avoid it. Hoddle tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Hawat with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hawat throws a leg kick but Hoddle checks it. Hawat throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

so Hoddle counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hoddle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hawat's guard. Glen Hoddle has got the better of the ground game so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Hawat is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawat wants to sweep but no luck. Hoddle tries to stand but Hawat is controlling from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Hoddle preventing the sweep.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A looping hook to the body misses from Hawat. Hoddle does a little dance to reset his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hawat misses with a body shot.
Jab by Hawat. Hawat swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hawat throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Hoddle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawat won't be happy with that. Hawat is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hoddle has just dragged him back down to the mat. Hoddle tries to stand but Hawat is controlling his head. Hoddle working away. Glen Hoddle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hoddle wants to stand but Hawat has his arm trapped.
And that's the end of the fight! Thufir Hawat showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
