Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Broker (ranked 3867 p4p, 4791 weight class) and Pedro Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 479 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Broker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Escobar circles away quickly and effectively.
Escobar throws a series of punches but Broker moves out of range.

Broker gets tackled into the cage by Escobar. Escobar maintains the clinch.
Escobar tries a body shot but Broker blocks it.
Escobar lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Broker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Escobar smiles and moves away.
Broker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Escobar tries to clinch up.
Escobar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Broker counters with a stiff right hand.
Escobar throws a head kick but Broker moves out of range.
No luck for Broker with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar drives through and clinches with Broker against the cage.

Broker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Escobar manages to get himself to full guard.

Broker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Broker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Broker stands and throws Escobar's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Escobar pushes Broker away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Broker gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round but I would say that John Broker will probably get the nod.
That's time! Broker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Broker is trying to push Escobar away but Escobar has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Escobar tries to pull guard but Broker holds him up against the cage and eventually Escobar drops back down to his feet.
Escobar lands a damaging elbow.
We've been informed that Escobar has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Broker wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Broker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Escobar.

Escobar jumps guard but Broker stands there with Escobar around his waist. Escobar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Broker wants to take the fight to the mat but Escobar manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Broker is trying to maintain a safe position but Escobar gets an underhook and turns Broker into the cage.

Escobar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Escobar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Broker is looking to control Escobar's arms but Escobar gets an underhook and turns him. Now Broker has his back to the cage.

and Broker counters with a three punch combo that has Escobar backing up. Escobar nods at Broker to acknowledge the strikes.

Escobar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Escobar wants to clinch up but Broker keeps it at a distance.

Horrible takedown attempt by Broker or perhaps it was just good defense by Escobar, which made it look bad.
Pedro Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Broker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Escobar pinned against the cage. Escobar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Escobar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Broker's waist but Broker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Escobar off to one side.

Broker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Escobar just stands there and leans against the cage.

John Broker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
