And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Malo Tavara!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Leighton fails with the takedown
and Tavara moves into the clinch.

Tavara is trying to drag Leighton to the mat but Leighton just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Leighton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Leighton has the hooks in. Tavara is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Tavara is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Leighton.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Leighton is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Tavara has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
