This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Edward Krause! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Hardeep Nijjar! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Nijjar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Krause (0) vs (2) Nijjar Nijjar controlling the pace. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Krause is pressing down on Nijjar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Krause pulls Nijjar in to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krause keeping moving, preventing Nijjar from controlling successfully.

Krause bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nijjar's guard. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Krause trying to mount his opponent but Nijjar defends it. That's nine minutes gone in the round. Krause controlling the position easily from mount. Krause avoids the attempt from Nijjar to control. Krause content just to control the position here. Nijjar is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Krause controlling from the full mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Nijjar tries to hold on but Krause postures up. Nijjar really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Krause takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Nijjar is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Krause has taken his back.

Nijjar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krause is riding his opponent, not letting Nijjar buck him off.
And that's the end of the fight! Krause takes the fight on points by 10 to 2. An out of breath Edward Krause thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. |
