Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Scott Calvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 77 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amiga gets caught napping as Calvin dives in and scores a takedown. Amiga manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Calvin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Calvin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Calvin lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Calvin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Calvin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Calvin connects with a couple of short punches.
Calvin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Amiga wants to sweep here but Calvin controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Calvin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Amiga is rocked!
Calvin postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Amiga covers up, he's hurt! Calvin keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Calvin and the ref steps in to end the fight! Calvin can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
