Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bernard McCurtney (ranked 1571 p4p, 2700 weight class) and Laddy Sutherland (ranked 109 p4p, 160 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McCurtney might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to "Wonton Soup”. Bernard McCurtney has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Laddy Sutherland!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by McCurtney.
McCurtney tries to bum rush Sutherland with a series of wild strikes but Sutherland uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sutherland scores with a spinning back kick!

McCurtney throws a sloppy head kick and Sutherland moves out of range easily.
McCurtney throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCurtney works the jab nicely.

Sutherland throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sutherland cracks a nice hook into McCurtney's ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick misses from Sutherland.
Sutherland fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McCurtney.

Sutherland with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McCurtney to score with a decent uppercut.

It looks like Laddy Sutherland has been cut.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Sutherland might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, McCurtney has got the better of the exchanges.

Sutherland throws the kick towards the body but McCurtney avoids it.
McCurtney throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sutherland on the side of the head.
Sutherland is looking to slow McCurtney down with leg kicks.
McCurtney feints a jab promting Sutherland to slip. McCurtney then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sutherland slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Sutherland takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
BOOM! McCurtney lands a beautiful left hook that drops Sutherland. Sutherland tries to recover but McCurtney is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Sutherland lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bernard McCurtney!
After winning the bout, Bernard McCurtney thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
