Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Sober (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Monson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sober's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pantera - Walk. Monson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break by Three Days Grace kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monson fails to land the takedown. Monson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Monson stuffs the takedown. Sober darts in and clinches Monson up against the cage. Monson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sober gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Sober escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Monson swings for the body but Sober moves out of range.

Sober is pushing Monson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Monson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sober is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Monson to the mat. Monson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Monson looking for a sweep. Not yet Monson, not yet. Monson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sober. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sober is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sober gets to his feet - Monson follows without any prompting. Monson takes a jab right on the kisser.
It looks like Keith Monson has been cut. Monson stuffs the takedown. Sober scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sober advances to mount. Sober controlling the pace for now. Sober seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Monson for as long as he can get away with. Sober lands a big elbow. Sober prevents Monson from getting the reversal. Sober takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sober's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sober is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Sober shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Monson but Monson pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan Sober. That's going to take a lot out of him. Monson leaves Sober with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sober turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Nice sprawl there from Monson as Sober shoots in. That's three minutes gone in the round. Monson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sober sprawls well initially but Monson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Monson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sober's head. Sober wants to control but Monson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sober slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Monson trying to control but Sober is working from the bottom. Sober wants to stand but Monson is controlling the position. Monson trying to control the position from guard on top but Sober is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sober manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sober takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sober get's back to his feet. Sober throws a right and a left that Monson avoids nicely. Horrible takedown by Monson or perhaps it was just good defense by Sober which made him look bad. Monson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sober darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Monson kicks Sober off and gets back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Sober dominated that round. The cut man is working on Keith Monson's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Monson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sober counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dylan Sober overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sober has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Sober tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Monson can't escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Monson tries to hold on but Sober postures up. A nice elbow there by Sober. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monson can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sober content just to control the position here. Monson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sober controlling the position easily from mount. Monson is looking to get to half guard. Sober cracks Monson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Monson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Monson has left one of his arms exposed and Sober doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Monson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
