Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freaky Max (ranked 1806 p4p, 1287 weight class) and Reese Remington (ranked 209 p4p, 162 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reese Remington!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Remington misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Max.
Max wants to land a leg kick but Remington is out of range.
Remington scores with a jab to the jaw.
Max is looking to clinch but Remington is avoiding it.

Max has Remington up against the cage in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Max.
Remington is trying to pull guard but Max has him pressed against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Remington counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Max moves in looking to clinch but Remington pushes him off.
Remington's corner calls for a 1-2. Remington obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Remington swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Max looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Horrible takedown attempt by Remington or perhaps it was just good defense by Max, which made it look bad.
Max is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Remington.
Freaky Max is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Max throws out a loose jab but Remington uses good head movement to avoid it.
Remington bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Max's head.
Max wants to clinch up but Remington keeps it at a distance.

Max knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Remington on the ground.

Max has taken the fight to the clinch.

Remington gets control of Max's arms and successfully pulls guard. Remington will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Freaky Max seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Remington decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Max's guard.
Max looking to hit a scissor sweep but Remington is one step ahead there.

Remington lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Max hang on?

It looks like Freaky Max has been cut.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Max tries to hold on but Remington postures up.
Remington wants to control the pace but Max is squirming around nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Reese Remington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Freaky Max's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Remington counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Max!

A lull in the action here as Remington stalls from top position.
Max takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Remington remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Reese Remington is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Remington takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Remington lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Let's hope that Remington has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Remington's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
