Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Thatcherton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Kent! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thatcherton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kent has time to react. Thatcherton misses with a body shot.
Thatcherton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kent takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kent fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kent takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Thatcherton connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Chuck Thatcherton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kent takes one to the chin there.
Kent is rocked! Thatcherton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kent.
Thatcherton scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Kent is still on wobbly legs! Can Thatcherton finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kent misses with a takedown and Thatcherton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kent seems to have recovered his senses. Kent is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Thatcherton is defending well. Kent is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Thatcherton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Chuck Thatcherton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Kent. Kent taking a breather. Thatcherton misses with a hook from the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Thatcherton.
Thatcherton lands a shoulder strike. Thatcherton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Thatcherton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kent stalls. Thatcherton lands with a right to the head. Kent manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Thatcherton cracks Kent with a solid left hand. Kent is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Thatcherton rolls with it to try and escape but Kent cranks on the arm and Thatcherton is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
