Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Duane Souza (ranked 1012 p4p, 2478 weight class) and Azim Kaarduu (ranked 106 p4p, 226 weight class). Azim Kaarduu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duane Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Azim Kaarduu!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kaarduu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Souza scrambles back to his feet.
Kaarduu loads up on a big right hand but Souza slips the punch.
Kaarduu has closed the distance and engaged Souza in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Kaarduu fails to land.
Kaarduu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kaarduu lands a shoulder strike.
Souza takes a shot to the head.
Kaarduu softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kaarduu struggles to land a body shot inside as Souza controls his hands.
Kaarduu working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Souza is rocked!
Souza is trying to drag Kaarduu to the mat but Kaarduu just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Oh Souza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kaarduu's coach down at Gym To Nica was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kaarduu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Souza blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Souza seems to have got his legs back now.
Souza changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kaarduu fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kaarduu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kaarduu gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kaarduu softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kaarduu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kaarduu closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Souza! Kaarduu dives in looking to finish! Souza is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Azim Kaarduu!
Our winner, Azim Kaarduu, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
