Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Armstrong (ranked 25304 p4p, 25319 weight class) and Paxton Becker (ranked 374 p4p, 386 weight class). Kelvin Armstrong is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kelvin Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paxton Becker! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Becker feints and as Armstrong raises his hands in defense, Becker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Armstrong wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Becker manages to pass to side control. Becker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Armstrong trying to control but Becker postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Becker trying to control the action but Armstrong is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Armstrong is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Becker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Armstrong keeps working. Armstrong holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Becker wants to control but Armstrong is keeping him busy. Armstrong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Armstrong is refusing to be controlled, as Becker sits in half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Becker not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Armstrong looks for a takedown but Becker sprawls well. Becker has managed to clinch.
Armstrong breaks from the clinch.
Becker misses with a takedown attempt - Armstrong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Armstrong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Becker defends it nicely. Armstrong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Armstrong. That's going to take a lot out of him. Becker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Armstrong sprawls well initially but Becker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong looking for submissions off his back. Becker looks to land a strike but Armstrong avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Becker is looking to advance position but Armstrong has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Armstrong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Armstrong avoids the attempt from Becker to control. Becker is looking to improve his position but Armstrong isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Becker has given up his back here. Will Armstrong look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Armstrong is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Becker breaks Armstrong's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Armstrong looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Armstrong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Becker is one step ahead there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Paxton Becker will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Becker fails with the takedown. Armstrong fails with a takedown attempt. Becker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Armstrong dives in and grabs Becker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Becker pushes down on Armstrong's head and hops out. Becker shoots in looking for a takedown but Armstrong manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Becker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. As Becker looks to move away, Armstrong throws a big counter combo but Becker just gets out of the way. Becker rushes Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Becker has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Armstrong regains guard immediately. Armstrong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Becker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armstrong looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Becker has picked Armstrong up and slammed him! Armstrong can't keep hold of the triangle and Becker manages to pass to side control! Becker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Armstrong keeps working. Armstrong is looking for a sweep. Armstrong is not content to let Becker control the position. Armstrong struggling a bit here.

Becker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armstrong swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armstrong trying to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Becker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Armstrong throws a quick counter head kick but Becker was just out of range. Armstrong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Becker counters with a nice body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Armstrong. That's going to take a lot out of him. Armstrong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Becker avoids it really well and circles away. Armstrong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Becker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Armstrong's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Becker advances position into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong is trying to get back to half guard. Becker is looking to take a break and control but Armstrong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Becker looking to control but instead Armstrong has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Armstrong is not content to let Becker control the position. Armstrong trying to control here.

Paxton Becker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Armstrong has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Becker uses from the top position. And that's the end of the fight! Paxton Becker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Becker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
