Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Chugman (ranked 755 p4p, 1095 weight class) and Kotaro Asakura (ranked 56 p4p, 80 weight class). Asakura comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Venom by $ B kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kotaro Asakura has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 52 - 48 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kotaro Asakura! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Chugman throws a lazy uppercut
and Asakura counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Chugman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Asakura looks like he wants to counter punch here. Chugman swings away with a body shot that misses
and Chugman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Chugman throws a body shot but no joy. A little jabbing left from Asakura on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Chugman misses with a shot to the body and Asakura makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman misses with an uppercut
enabling Asakura to counter with a crisp jab. Chugman tries to clinch up and Asakura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chugman throws a sloppy body shot
and Asakura counters with a nice right hand that sends Chugman toppling to the canvas! Chugman scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Asakura finish him?! Chugman jabbing away but nothing is landing. Asakura is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Chugman fails to land the takedown. Asakura throws out a counter right but Chugman avoids it with no problem. Asakura has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chugman with a lazy takedown attempt letting Asakura counter with a right hand. Asakura has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Chugman wants to clinch enabling Asakura to counter with a crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Asakura stuffs the takedown attempt from Chugman. Chugman gets slowly back to his feet. A little jabbing left from Asakura on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaus Chugman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chugman shoots in but no luck this time.

Chugman moves in looking to clinch but Asakura pushes him off. Chugman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Chugman misses with a left hand and Asakura counters with a nice body shot. Kotaro Asakura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chugman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Asakura swivels and escapes. Chugman backing away here, and Asakura unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Chugman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Asakura swats him away and circles back towards the center. Chugman fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Chugman throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Chugman misses with a takedown and Asakura counters with a solid body kick. Chugman with a lazy takedown attempt and Asakura counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaus Chugman. That's going to take a lot out of him. That's four minutes gone in the round. Chugman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Asakura's elbow. Chugman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Asakura gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Asakura lands an elbow that stopped Chugman in his tracks for a moment. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Asakura as Chugman tries to tie him up. Chugman takes a shot to the head. Asakura breaks from the clinch.
Asakura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chugman.

and Asakura counters with a nice kick to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chugman wants to clinch but Asakura slips to the side and Asakura counters with a nice right hand that sends Chugman toppling to the canvas! Chugman scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Asakura finish him?!
Chugman is rocked! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kotaro Asakura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Chugman fails in his attempt to clinch. Asakura looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Asakura stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Asakura wants it to stay on the feet. Chugman is looking to wear down Asakura with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Chugman shoots in looking for a takedown. Asakura tries to sprawl out of it but Chugman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Asakura manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Asakura replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Chugman blocks it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaus Chugman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chugman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Klaus Chugman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chugman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asakura looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Asakura is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Asakura is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Chugman is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Asakura can do anything to dispel that myth. Asakura holds on to Chugman around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Klaus Chugman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Asakura is squirming around, avoiding Chugman's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Asakura is trying desperately to improve position. Chugman lands a big shot there that rocks Asakura but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Asakura wants to try and get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chugman throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Chugman wants to finish this one by submission but Asakura is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Chugman.
And that's the end of the fight! Klaus Chugman showed his dominance in that final round. I think Asakura has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
