Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Mills (ranked 1492 p4p, 1878 weight class) and Gerald Phoenix (ranked 194 p4p, 250 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mills might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rock the Dragon. Dragonball Z. Gerald Phoenix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Gerald Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix throws a jab but it's blocked by Mills.
Phoenix looks to clinch
and Mills counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Mills connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mills jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Phoenix looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Phoenix takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Phoenix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mills rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phoenix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Phoenix throws a fast counter high kick but Mills manages to duck under it in time.

Phoenix presses Mills against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Phoenix lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mills backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Phoenix tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mills's elbow.
Mills lands a nice uppercut.
Mills tries to work over Phoenix's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

A short body shot lands from Mills as the two fighters clinch.

Mills throws an overhand right that lands on Phoenix's shoulder, as Phoenix tries to avoid the shot.
Phoenix thuds his right hand into Mills's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mills went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Phoenix misses with a hook. Mills ducked under it nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Phoenix 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Mills feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Gerald Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mills takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Phoenix uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mills.
Phoenix wants to counter with a clinch but Mills pushes him away.

and Phoenix counters with a huge left! Mills is in big trouble! He's backing up but Phoenix isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Mills from any more damage. A dominating finish by Phoenix!
