Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Karelin (ranked 25302 p4p, 3139 weight class) and Max Reynolds (ranked 587 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Karelin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Karelin eats them both and turns towards Reynolds to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Peter Karelin has been cut.
Reynolds misses with a jab, cross combination.
Reynolds looks to score with a jab to the body but Karelin is just out of range.
A combination from Reynolds does no damage.
Reynolds wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Reynolds swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A left lands for Karelin.
Max Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karelin throws a right and a left that Reynolds avoids nicely.
Karelin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reynolds was well out of range. Poor timing from Karelin.
Karelin avoids the body shot from Reynolds.
It looked like Karelin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Reynolds darts in and clinches Karelin up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reynolds is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Karelin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Karelin gets underhooks to prevent Reynolds's takedown attempt.

Reynolds breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Reynolds or perhaps it was just good defense by Karelin, which made it look bad.
Karelin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Peter Karelin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Reynolds.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karelin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Karelin throws out a powerful jab.
Reynolds looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Karelin is looking for a counter combo.
Karelin throws a combination. Reynolds tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Reynolds closes the distance and clinches.
Reynolds stalls.
Reynolds tries for a takedown. No joy.

Reynolds wants the takedown. Karelin is fighting it off but Reynolds persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Karelin's guard against the cage.
Karelin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reynolds on the ground.
Reynolds is working Karelin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reynolds trying to control but Karelin is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reynolds content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Reynolds wants to pass the guard but Karelin is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reynolds stands up over Karelin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Karelin is rocked!
Karelin looking to control.
Oh Karelin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Reynolds not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Reynolds gets to his feet and stands over Karelin, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Karelin felt that one! Reynolds unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Karelin from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Reynolds!
A relieved looking Max Reynolds thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
