Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Malik Gerrard (ranked 4677 p4p, 24911 weight class) and Johnny Smack (ranked 536 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Malik Gerrard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Smack!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Jrvilinen and Anni Minnemki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Smack.
Smack throws a right hand that Gerrard ducks under and follows up with a left that Gerrard also avoids with ease.
Gerrard thuds a left hand into Smack's body.
Smack throws a head kick that half lands.
Gerrard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smack tries to avoid it but Gerrard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smack to the ground. Smack escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smack swinging wildly here.
Smack moves out of range as Gerrard strikes.
Smack connects with a body shot that sends Gerrard's belly button to the back.
Smack tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gerrard has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smack breaks the clinch.
Gerrard slips a jab and a cross from Smack.
Gerrard misses with a combination
and Smack counters with a three punch combo that has Gerrard backing up. Gerrard nods at Smack to acknowledge the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gerrard fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerrard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smack sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gerrard somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malik Gerrard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smack ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Smack lands with a nice body kick.
Gerrard takes a swing at Smack's ribcage but misses.
Smack looks to land a combination. Gerrard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Gerrard tries to clinch up but Smack circles away and keeps his distance.
Gerrard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smack circles away.
Gerrard shoots in for a double leg but Smack sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smack has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Gerrard is breathing heavily.
Smack tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnny Smack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smack scores with a decent looking hook.
Smack fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gerrard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Smack connects with a jab.
Gerrard is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smack catches Gerrard with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Gerrard forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johnny Smack!
Johnny Smack really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Hype Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
