The bell rings for round one and we are underway! prosser shoots in but no luck this time. Gapuz misses with a takedown and prosser counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gapuz is lucky that one didn't land flush. prosser closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gapuz circles away. prosser misses with a low kick. prosser misses with a takedown attempt and Gapuz counters with a slapping leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for shane prosser. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from prosser. Gapuz misses with a takedown attempt and prosser counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. prosser is looking to work some ground and pound but Gapuz has wrist control. Gapuz looking for a sweep. Not yet Gapuz, not yet. prosser is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gapuz wants to control the position but prosser says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Gapuz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute prosser jumps into side control! Gapuz strikes from the bottom but prosser takes advantage and advances to full mount! prosser controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gapuz gets back to half guard. Gapuz trying to control here.
prosser seems to be working for a kimura but Gapuz defends the submission attempt. prosser slows the pace down in half guard. prosser wants to pass the guard but Gapuz is defending well. prosser controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gapuz trying to hold on to prosser's head to control him but prosser postures up.
prosser tries to pass to full mount but Gapuz defends it. Gapuz is looking to control prosser's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gapuz avoid being mounted?
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. prosser shoots and misses and Gapuz counters with a lovely shot to the body. prosser is breathing heavily. Gapuz misses with a takedown and prosser counters with a takedown into side control. Gapuz is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gapuz wants to improve his position, back to half guard but prosser has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Gapuz's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Gapuz is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for prosser!
