Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yu Liang (ranked 2300 p4p, 563 weight class) and Raphael Couture (ranked 282 p4p, 76 weight class). Raphael Couture told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yu Liang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raphael Couture!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Liang steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Couture.
Liang swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Couture tries to clinch up.
A little feinted left hand from Liang on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Couture lands an overhand right.
Couture misses with a straight left.
Couture darts in trying to clinch
and Liang counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Couture throws a jab but it's blocked by Liang.
Liang is looking to counter punch.
Couture tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Liang manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Liang appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Couture moves in looking to clinch but Liang pushes him off.

We've been told by Liang's head coaches at Makweingdo Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Liang swats away the attempt to clinch by Couture.
Couture looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Liang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Couture tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Liang counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Raphael Couture has been cut.
Couture misses with a hook. Liang ducked under it nicely.
Liang swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Couture wants to clinch but Liang slips to the side
and Liang counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Couture, as that shot connected.
Liang swats away the attempt to clinch by Couture.
Couture closes the distance but Liang moves to the side
and Liang counters with a nice right hand that sends Couture toppling to the canvas! Couture scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Liang finish him?!
Couture is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

It looked like Liang wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Couture connects with the punch.
Couture tries to clinch there but Liang circles away.

Liang slips under a jab from Couture.
Couture might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Couture clobbers Liang with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Couture tries to clinch but Liang moves out of range.
Couture darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yu Liang will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Couture throws out a loose jab but Liang uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Liang counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Couture is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Liang swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

and Liang counters with a crisp right hand that drops Couture! Liang lets Couture back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Liang counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
