Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Banton (ranked 25339 p4p, 3539 weight class) and Lucas Silva (ranked 565 p4p, 423 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Banton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Silva! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Banton lands in his opponent's guard. Silva has his hands on Banton's head, controlling the position. Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Banton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Banton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva pulls Banton in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banton postures up and lands a big shot to Silva's brow. Banton trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Silva is still trying to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silva holds on and takes a little breather. Silva lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Silva passes into half guard. Banton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to take a break and control but Banton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Silva slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Banton is holding on for dear life with his legs. Silva is thwarting Banton's attempts to control the position. Silva is taking a breather. Banton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Banton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Banton fails in his attempt to clinch. Banton throws a head kick that Silva semi-blocks.
Banton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Banton is looking to clinch. Silva has managed to clinch.
Silva has clasped his hands together around Banton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Banton being controlled for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lucas Silva dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Banton connects with a leg kick. Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch. Banton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Silva is looking for a kimura but Banton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Silva to get the leverage. Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Banton sees it coming and defends easily. Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Banton takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard. Silva trying to mount his opponent but Banton defends it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lucas Silva! A relieved looking Lucas Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
