And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dick closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scarpelli circles away.
Scarpelli wants to clinch.
Dick avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scarpelli fails with the takedown
and Dick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Scarpelli's guard now.
Dick won't allow Scarpelli to sweep him here.
Dick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Scarpelli is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Scarpelli really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dick postures up.

Dick drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Scarpelli manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dick has Scarpelli in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dick wants to sweep but no luck.
Dick is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Scarpelli has his hands clasped together but Dick extends an breaks Scarpelli's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Dick.
