Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexis Herny!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herny drops Phillips with a left right combo! Herny follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like Nate Phillips has been cut.
Herny controls the position.
Herny wants to stand but Phillips is controlling his arm.
Phillips is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Herny looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Phillips tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Herny wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Herny tries to move into full mount but can't pass Phillips's legs.
Herny really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Phillips. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Herny wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Phillips, who protects the arm well.
Herny decides to stand up, so the ref orders Phillips to his feet.
Phillips ducks straight into an uppercut from Herny and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Phillips manages to regain guard straight away.
Phillips is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Herny is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Oh Phillips is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Phillips is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Phillips seems to have got his legs back now.
Herny seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Phillips has a closed guard, preventing Herny from standing up.
Phillips is trying to control the position but Herny postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Herny won't allow Phillips to sweep him here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Phillips wants to get back to his feet but Herny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Phillips looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Herny is fending him off so far but Phillips persists. Nope, Herny circles away and we're back to standing.
Herny throws a combination. Phillips tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Nate Phillips's cut is getting worse.
Herny throws a right and a left that both miss.
Herny throws a right and a left that Phillips avoids nicely.
Oooh a lovely combination from Herny sends Phillips down but not out. Herny dives into side control looking to finish.
Herny stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Herny lands a big right hook! Phillips looks hurt but is still standing! Herny lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Phillips falls down and Herny dives in with a huge hammer fist! Phillips's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Herny runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alexis Herny!
An out of breath Alexis Herny thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
