Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Gracie (ranked 24779 p4p, 5217 weight class) and Rusty Shackleford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Rafael Gracie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rusty Shackleford! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Gracie tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Shackleford lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Shackleford works over Gracie's head and body with a nice combination. Shackleford fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shackleford to the mat! Shackleford manages to get full guard. Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Shackleford wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gracie stays in close to Shackleford's body and controls the position. Gracie preventing the sweep. Shackleford is looking to sweep but instead, Gracie has passed into half guard.
Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shackleford defends it well.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie prevents Shackleford from improving his position.
Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shackleford sees it coming and defends easily.
Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gracie is looking for a kimura but Shackleford is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Shackleford is trying to stand.
Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie moves nicely into side control.
Gracie in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Shackleford is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
