Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hector Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donal MacCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreno is trying hard to land a takedown here. MacCarthy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
MacCarthy connects with a body shot.
Moreno gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Moreno throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and MacCarthy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Moreno ducks right into an uppercut from MacCarthy.
Moreno misses with a takedown attempt
and MacCarthy counters with a left and a right that stings Moreno.
MacCarthy lands with a shot to the body.
Moreno tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling MacCarthy to counter with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moreno doesn't succeed with the takedown
and MacCarthy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Moreno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MacCarthy lands with an uppercut that bounces Moreno off the cage and back into range.
Moreno misses with a takedown
and MacCarthy counters with a straight right hand.
Moreno is rocked!
It looks like Hector Moreno has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! MacCarthy has cracked Moreno with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! MacCarthy lands another huge swinging hook and Moreno tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Moreno, before MacCarthy can land any more shots!
