Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Richman (ranked 3776 p4p, 3933 weight class) and Marshall Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 417 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Richman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marshall Sanders!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richman looks for the body kick but Sanders saw that one coming.
Sanders fails with the takedown.

Sanders gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sanders escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanders steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Richman.
Richman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sanders takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Richman fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sanders is out of range.
Sanders fails with the takedown.
Richman throws a big counter combination but Sanders scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Richman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanders moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Richman wants to stall.

Sanders keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Richman's efforts to push away.

Richman throws a sloppy head kick and Sanders moves out of range easily.
Sanders shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Richman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sanders dives in for a single leg takedown but Richman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Richman cracks Sanders with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sanders throws a leg kick but Richman checks it.
Sanders takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Richman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Sanders closes the distance and clinches up with Richman, looking for a takedown. Sanders pushes Richman against the cage but Richman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Richman has had enough of the clinch but Sanders keeps him there for the moment.

Richman tries to throw a body punch but Sanders avoids it by throwing Richman back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Richman.

Sanders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Richman throws the kick towards the body but Sanders avoids it.
Richman fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sanders is out of range.
Sanders changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Richman.
Richman throws a solid leg kick but Sanders takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Richman.
Sanders with the counter takedown but Richman avoids it easily.
Richman misses with a low kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Richman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sanders has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sanders and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Richman throws a low kick, looking for Sanders's leg but Sanders calmly moves out of range.

Sanders fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Richman, pushing him back against the cage.
Richman tries to break the clinch but Sanders is controlling the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Richman stuffs the takedown attempt from Sanders. Sanders gets slowly back to his feet.
Richman misses with a double jab
and Sanders counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sanders crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Richman - the referee stops the clock and Sanders gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Richman. Sanders manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Richman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Marshall Sanders is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Richman throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

A nice inside leg kick there by Richman. That's going to slow Sanders down.

Richman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanders on the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Richman tries to work over Sanders's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Sanders's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Richman looks to land a left hand but Sanders moved out of range nicely.
Sanders wants to counter the offense by Richman and move into the clinch position.

Richman wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sanders tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Richman just stands there and leans against the cage.
Come on Sanders - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sanders checks a leg kick.

Richman will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sanders's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Richman pushes Sanders away with a front kick.
Sanders takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Sanders looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richman is fending him off so far but Sanders persists. Nope, Richman circles away and we're back to standing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Richman throws a leg kick which misses Sanders's front leg but catches the back leg as Sanders tries to avoid it.

Sanders stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Richman.

Richard Richman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Richman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
