Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 881 p4p, 3373 weight class) and Alan West (ranked 115 p4p, 420 weight class). Anderson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pick up man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan West!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but West persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.
West shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Anderson counter with a right hand.
West misses with a takedown attempt
and Anderson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sparky Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan West.
Anderson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by West.
West shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anderson as he jumps to the side.
Anderson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
West takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Anderson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Anderson controlling the pace.
Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Anderson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! West is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sparky Anderson!
Post fight, an emotional Sparky Anderson said 'It's great to be the new champion, thanks to all my team around me'.
