Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kari Mountain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Bash!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountain connects with a high kick.
Bash should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mountain lands a really nice looking cross but Bash seems unphased.
Mountain goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Mountain throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Bash throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mountain was covering up waiting for the punch and Bash finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mountain has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Bash has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bash tries to pull guard but Mountain holds him up against the cage and eventually Bash drops back down to his feet.

Mountain breaks from the clinch.
Bash shoots and misses
and Mountain counters with a left and a right that stings Bash.

Mountain pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bash back to the cage. Mountain follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bash has eaten all the pies!
Mountain moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bash gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Mountain to counter with a crisp jab.
Kari Mountain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Bash.
Mountain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bash doesn't seem bothered though.
Bash takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Mountain makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mountain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bash on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Mountain counters with a right hand to the body.

Mountain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mountain is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Mountain throws a series of strikes that have Bash backpedaling.
Mountain connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mountain connects with a looping right hand.
That kick from Mountain tenderised Bash's leg. Bash is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mountain dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bash. That did some damage!
Mountain stuffs the takedown attempt from Bash. Bash gets slowly back to his feet.
Mountain displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

and Bash takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mountain throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bash.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mountain!
Mountain pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bash back to the cage. Mountain follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Mountain leaves Bash with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bash takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

A slapping body kick lands there for Mountain.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mountain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mountain lands a head kick. Bash smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Mountain is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Mountain throws a combination. Bash tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mountain is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mountain scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mountain moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kari Mountain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mountain lands with a nice body kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mountain lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Bash throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mountain tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bash is in Mountain's guard.
Mountain wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bash manages to pass to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bash is looking for a kimura here.

Mountain tries to kick Bash off but Bash keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mountain is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bash can do to turn this around?

Bash is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Mountain as he works his way to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mountain wriggles free and stands up.
Bash on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Mountain turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mountain fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A jab from Mountain does it's job there.
Mountain moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Bash has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Mountain stalks Bash and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bash's face. Bash staggers backwards, shaken.

Bash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mountain counters with an outside leg kick.
Mountain scoring well with a low kick there.
A nice combination there by Mountain.
Mountain lands a slapping body shot.
Good exchange - Mountain coming out on top.
Mountain moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

and Bash takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bash drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Bash takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mountain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bash dives in and grabs Mountain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mountain pushes down on Bash's head and hops out.
Bash takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Mountain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

A punch lands to the side of Bash 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Bash takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Mountain looks to land a combination. Bash sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Mountain lands with a nice combination. Bash backs away looking to recover.
Danga de danga de dang - Mountain scores with a four punch combination!
Mountain pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bash back to the cage. Mountain follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bash with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mountain counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Bash is rocked!
Mountain is pawing at Bash, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Bash's nose. Bash is badly hurt! Mountain pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Bash tries desperately to hold on but Mountain is relentless in his assault! As Bash receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Mountain away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kari Mountain!
