Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boryslav Margera (ranked 835 p4p, 805 weight class) and Pultti Pyssy (ranked 92 p4p, 87 weight class). Margera comes into the arena with Daniel Lioneye - The King of Rock 'n' Roll blaring out of the sound system. Pultti Pyssy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boryslav Margera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pyssy misses with an uppercut
and Margera counters with a lovely straight right hand! Margera cracks Pyssy with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Pyssy throws a sloppy body shot
and Margera counters with a stiff right hand. Margera throws a lazy uppercut
and Pyssy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Margera's guard. Margera keeping full guard, as Pyssy tries to pass. Margera looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Margera manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pyssy manages to get himself to full guard.
Margera working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pyssy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Margera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pyssy seems keen to control Margera's posture. Margera working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pyssy's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That's one minute gone in the round. Pyssy has his foot on Margera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Margera works his way back into a safe position though. Pyssy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Margera with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pyssy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Margera manages to get himself to full guard.
Margera pulls Pyssy in close to his closed guard and prevents Pyssy from doing any damage or advancing position. Pyssy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Margera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Margera is adopting a defensive guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Margera wants to sweep but no luck. Pyssy is looking to advance position but Margera has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Margera landing shots from mount. Pyssy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Pyssy trying to hold on to Margera's head to control him but Margera postures up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Margera lands with a punch from half guard. Margera is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Margera is thwarting Pyssy's attempts to control the position. Margera prevents Pyssy from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Margera connects with a nice short shot to Pyssy's temple. Margera landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Margera working Pyssy over with strikes. Margera scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pyssy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Margera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Margera's back! Margera is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Margera postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Margera throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pyssy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pyssy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Margera's guard. Margera has control of Pyssy's left arm, preventing Pyssy from doing any damage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Boryslav Margera dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Pyssy takes one to the side of the head.
A jab lands there for Margera. Margera takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Margera lands a jab. Pyssy lands a right hook to the body.

Margera throws a hook to the side of Pyssy's head but Pyssy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pyssy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Margera defends it well. Margera throws a lazy right hand but Pyssy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. It looks like Margera has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Margera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice cross by Pyssy. Boryslav Margera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Margera lands with a hook. Pyssy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pyssy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Margera. Pyssy throws a hook to the side of Margera's head but Margera sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pyssy drops his hands momentarily and Margera takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pyssy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Margera rushes Pyssy and presses him up against the cage. Pyssy is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Margera throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pyssy blocks it with crossed arms. Pyssy misses with some punches.

Boryslav Margera dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Pyssy throws a body shot but no joy. A telegraphed right hand from Pyssy misses the target. Nice defenses there by Pyssy. Pyssy lands a head shot. Margera lands a slapping body shot.

Margera is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Margera ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Boryslav Margera is winning the standup battle so far. Margera takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pyssy slips a jab from Margera. A jab from Margera does it's job there. Margera slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Margera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pyssy misses with a looping right. Pyssy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pyssy takes a body punch but keeps moving. Pyssy lands a head shot.
It looks like Boryslav Margera has been cut. Pyssy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Margera looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Margera misses with a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Margera takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Margera throws the left hand but Pyssy avoids the punch easily. Margera throws a hook to the side of Pyssy's head but Pyssy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Margera closes the distance and lands a one-two. Margera digs a good hook to Pyssy's body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Margera uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pyssy. Margera misses with a right hand and Pyssy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Margera wants to sweep but Pyssy has passed to side control! Pyssy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Margera keeps working. Margera is trying to get back to half guard. Pultti Pyssy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pyssy is looking to take a break and control but Margera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Margera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pyssy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pyssy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Margera, who protects the arm well. Boryslav Margera is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. You can see the frustration on Margera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ground and pound from Pyssy seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Pultti Pyssy. Well Margera has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
